R&B Singer Jarrod Lawson Releases New Ballad “Do Whatchu Gotta” | WATCH NEW VIDEO!
R&B CROONER JARROD LAWSON KNOWS WHAT HE WANTS IN
“DO WHATCHU GOTTA”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – ATLANTA, GA FEB 6, 2026 – Nashville-based singer-songwriter-pianist Jarrod Lawson returns with a deeply intimate new R&B slow jam “Do Whatchu Gotta” out NOW via Dome Records.
Known for his rich, multi-layered vocal harmonies and lush, atmospheric keyboards, Lawson delivers a tender meditation on acceptance and emotional release. Written with French chill-hop artist Rose Noir and produced by Lawson himself, “Do Whatchu Gotta” captures the quiet moment of letting someone go -when love shifts from holding on to setting free.
The song marks the second single from Lawson’s eagerly anticipated new album arriving May 1st, 2026.
Jarrod describes how the song came to life. “The song was inspired by the Rose Noir instrumental track ‘Twins’. I remember sitting on my couch when I first heard it and I loved the vibe so much that I jumped up and grabbed my notebook to start jotting down some lyrics that I was hearing, very much non-biographical musings that randomly came to me in the moment. It was like a little gift from beyond.”
The forthcoming 14-song album includes the acclaimed single “Next Move,” his collaboration with Los Angeles vocalist Raquel Rodriguez.
Additional collaborators on the new album include Eric Roberson and New York -based producer CARRTOONS.
Currently on an extensive U.S tour, Nashville based Jarrod Lawson launched his run in mid-January, with upcoming stops in NYC, Charlotte, Cincinnati, New York, Kansas City, Sacramento, Oakland and Milwaukee. In the summer he will be playing live dates in the UK and Europe.
Over a ten-year recording career, Jarrod Lawson has released two full-length albums, including his acclaimed self-titled debut in 2014 and the critically praised 2020 release Be The Change.
Raised in a home filled with music, Lawson’s near-lifelong devotion to the piano took hold at age thirteen, when he immersed himself in studying the masters- from Chopin to Stevie Wonder- shaping the expressive genre-defying sound he is now celebrated for.
