Guitarist Adam Hawley to Release New Album “Electric” on April 24th, 2026 | WATCH & LISTEN! Announces Tour Dates for 2026

UPDATED April 28th, 2026

Billboard chart-topping guitarist Adam Hawley goes Electric on his seventh album, out now

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (27 APRIL 2026): Going No. 1 on the Billboard chart 19 times pushes guitarist‑producer‑songwriter Adam Hawley to keep evolving — finding new sounds, new collaborators, and new ways to extend his remarkable hit streak. Even before its release on Friday (April 24) on the MBF Entertainment label, Hawley’s seventh album, Electric, has spawned two more Billboard No. 1 hits, “Automatic” featuring ten-time GRAMMY® nominated saxophonist Dave Koz and “RollerSk8.” The new album’s title track featuring saxophonist Everette Harp is already top 20 and poised to become Hawley’s next chart-topper.

“Each record is a bit more difficult than the previous one to replicate or even surpass the success that I have been extremely fortunate to have. The goal with each new album is to find a new way to do so. I am always looking to create new vibes, melodies, and grooves with new collaborators. I feel strongly that we’ve achieved that with Electric,” said Hawley, who collaborated with Harp and fellow R&B-jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows for the first time on the project.

Hawley’s sonic palette blends R&B grooves, improvisational contemporary jazz, and hook‑driven pop melodies. His guitar parlance balances rhythmic and technical dexterity with emotive lyrical qualities that connect with listeners. There’s an inherent joy and exuberance in Hawley’s guitar play along with a soul-powered warmth that makes his music alluring beyond the intoxicating qualities of his rich harmonies. He wrote or co-wrote nine new songs for the album and Electric captures everything Hawley has explored musically since his 2016 debut album, Just The Beginning. The new record exhibits growth and an expanded repertoire in Hawley’s determined effort to eclipse accolades that include being Billboard’s No. 1 Artist of the Year in 2025 and twice earning Billboard’s No. 1 Song of the Year (2022 and 2020).

“Electric” opens the album with a bolt of high voltage electric jazz guitar and sax featuring the GRAMMY® nominated Harp.

“I am always looking for a track to tie together an album, provide a theme, or in this case become the title track. This song is certainly that, and when working on the finishing touches, I kept hearing Everette Harp on the song. Fortunately, he felt the same way and provided a fantastic contribution both melodically and improvisationally. This track really sets the mood for the album and has been a fantastic addition to the live show as well,” said Hawley who will play 70 concert dates this year in support of Electric.

Elsewhere on the album, Billboard hitmaker Jeff Ryan guests on “Power Move,” marking the second collaboration between Hawley and the standout saxophonist featured on 2020’s “To The Top,” Billboard’s Song of the Year.

Hawley shifts gears on “New Jack,” a retro cut referencing the popular R&B groups and hits that reigned over the radio waves in the early 90s. While the rhythm track is thick and fat, the vibe is midtempo mellow, setting the scene for Meadows’ soprano and tenor saxophones to serenade in the company of Hawley’s lead riffs.

He lightens the mood with “RollerSk8,” a bouncy mirror-balled groove.

“As you can tell from the title, I was going for a disco/roller-rink vibe. A fan recently told me they were so inspired by the song that they took up skating again. Unfortunately, they fell and broke their arm so listen at your own risk!”

During the pandemic, Hawley hosted a live online show on which he performed songs from his repertoire as well as interesting covers, some of which featured his vocalist wife, Kat Hawley. She joins her husband on a dreamy version of Tyla’s sultry “Water” on Electric.

“I played a simple stripped-down version of ‘Water’ and it became one of my most viewed pieces on social media. For the album version, I added Kat’s vocals to take it over the top,” said Hawley.

Prior to embarking on Koz’s Christmas concert tour in 2024, the sax star asked Hawley to compose a duet for them to perform during the holiday trek. “Automatic” provided a break in the set list from Christmas music and wound up topping the Billboard chart. It appears in physical form for the first time on Electric.

Hawley plays with “some simpler textures and more relaxed themes” on “One Moment,” one of the six songs he wrote for Electric with keyboardist Caleb Middleton.

“Don’t Stop Runnin’” features frenetic fretwork from Hawley, who says it’s one of the fastest and most energetic songs he’s ever released. South American horn dynamo Filipe Moura goes stride by stride with Hawley on the up-tempo sprint with a relentless beat.

Dropping the tempo significantly, “Right On Time” offers a laid-back groove and includes an elegantly heartfelt piano solo from Carnell Harrell, who wrote the song and “Don’t Stop Runnin’” with Hawley.

Electric closes with “Call Me,” which Hawley said is “a downbeat chill — a slow burn.” He fan-tested it by streaming it as a deep cut a few months ago and got an enthusiastic response. “I enjoyed playing with more subtle textures and am proud of the guitar harmonies as well,” said Hawley, who is accompanied on the album by GRAMMY®-winning bassist Mel Brown, drummers Eric Valentine, Trevor Lawrence, and Levi Bennett; percussionist Ramon Yslas, and horn players David Mann, Michael Stever, Nick Lane, and Andrew Neu.

Hawley grew up in Portland, Oregon, and has long been based in the Los Angeles area. As a frontman, he’s performed at major jazz and music festivals all over the globe. Before going solo, Hawley has toured with Jennifer Lopez, Natalie Cole, Lalah Hathaway, The Manhattan Transfer, Brian McKnight, and played in the house band on American Idol. He develops and releases music from new artists on his MBF Entertainment record label, whose roster includes Jason Jackson, Brandon Marcel, Evan Taylor, Fabian Chavez, Patrik Dimak, Gianni Vancini, and Kat Hawley. Adam Hawley is an educator who earned a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Southern California.

It’s not easy to consistently deliver hits while keeping the music fresh, but Electric does both — with the confidence of an artist still ascending.

Hawley’s Electric contains the following songs:

“Electric” featuring Everette Harp
“Power Move” featuring Jeff Ryan
“New Jack” featuring Marion Meadows
“RollerSk8”
“Water”
