Gen Z Craves Authentic 1960s Philly Soul:
Viral Sensation Barbara Mason Unearths Rare Vault Track for Full-Length Album
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Jamie Record Co. is proud to announce the next phase of Barbara Mason’s unprecedented catalog revival. Following the massive viral resurgence of her timeless 1968 classic “Forever,” which now has almost 500,000 combined Creates on TikTok, her audience has rapidly expanded to 1.1 million monthly Spotify listeners.
What began as a slow-burn discovery this past summer has erupted into a global cultural moment, transforming a vintage soul deep cut into a defining soundtrack for modern romance.
Unearthing The 1960s Archives Collection
To meet this incredible surge in interest, Jamie Record Co. is thrilled to announce the May 22 release of a full-length album, The 1960s Archives Collection. Serving as the culmination of her recent archival EP series, this album brings together the highly sought-after tracks from Archives I and Archives II, along with the worldwide premiere of “You Left Me Behind,” both a rueful lament of young love and a precocious, wise outlook about moving on.
Prior to this current campaign, and with the exception of “Forever,” none of these 1960s recordings had ever been available on streaming services. While the tracks from Archives I and Archives II recently made their digital debuts in the lead-up to this release, the four additional songs will be hitting streaming platforms for the very first time. Featuring several original songs penned by Mason herself, this collection marks the official streaming debut for every new track on the release.

About the Artist
Often hailed as the “Queen of Philly Soul,” Barbara Mason was a trailblazer in the 1960s music scene, distinguishing herself as one of the few female soul artists who wrote her own songs. Best known for her chart-topping smash “Yes, I’m Ready,” Mason’s distinctively sweet, vulnerable vocal style helped define the lush Philadelphia sound that would dominate the next decade. Her version of “Forever” was originally released on her 1968 album Oh, How It Hurts, and showcases her signature blend of teenage longing and sophisticated arrangements, creating a sound that has now found a surprising and powerful new life nearly 60 years later.
