R&B Singer Chris Gees Releases New Single “Let It In”
Chris Gees is a veteran vocalist from Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from the illustrious Florida A&M University, where he studied music and theatre. Before he transitioned to Tallahassee, Florida, for college, Chris was very active on the musical scene in Philadelphia. Having served as a vocalist for several different organizations and choirs in the Tri-State area (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware). Joy Unlimited Youth Mass Choir is where Chris was able to hone and showcase his talent as a lead vocalist and member of the Tenor section for years. He even had to opportunity to lend his smooth vocals on the lead of “Make Me Whole” on their 1st album, “We’ve Come to Worship.” Chris attended Freedom Theatre Repertory School, a training arts program for Theatre and Musical Theatre. Settlement Music School, Zion Baptist Church Music Department, and Philadelphia Outstanding Singing Youth (The POSY) are just a few other outlets where Chris Gees had the opportunity to grow and share his gift as a young musician.
Transitioning to Tallahassee, Chris could share his gift on the highest of seven hills at Florida A&M University. He was a member of several musical organizations, including the World Renowned FAMU Gospel Choir. He also became a member of Phi Mu Alpha, Sinfonia Music Fraternity of America, Inc. in addition to Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. After graduating while still living in Tallahassee, Chris was chosen to be a part of a groundbreaking band in the area, The Chapter. The Chapter is an R&B/Soul Band that tours Florida and the Southeast Region performing at Festivals, and Nightclubs, in addition to other venues and gigs. Chris had the pleasure of being a part of Spirit & Truth Ensemble. The Praise and Worship Team at Love & Faith Ministries. During his time with this ensemble, he was able to lend his vocals to their debut album, “Sing the Songs of the Lord, Vol. 1,” under the direction of Pastor Lamar Simmons.
Not only is Chris Gees an accomplished vocalist and musician, he is also a celebrated, award-winning, highly respected, and sought-after celebrity hairstylist and makeup artist. He has built a career in Hollywood and has had the pleasure of working with the cream of the crop in the entertainment industry. His impeccable GLAM resume includes names like Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Tori Spelling, T Boz, Lisa Rena, Omarosa, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Stevie Wonder, Taye Diggs, Chance the Rapper, Dara Renee, and Doug E. Fresh to name a few.
As a result of Chris’s GLAM career, he has had the opportunity to lend his voice to several television broadcasts, live performances, and studio sessions and secured a place as a background vocalist for several of his celebrity clients. The BET Awards, The Celebration of Gospel, and David Tutera’s CELEBrations are among some of the broadcasts he’s been a part of. Michelle Williams, T-Boz, Tamela Mann, TANK, Yolanda Adams, and Kelly Price are just some artists Chris Gees has blended his vocal talents with and shared the stage.
In 2021, Doug E. Fresh released his 1st album after 20 years, “This is for Chuck Brown.” Chris Gees is the featured vocalist on the track “AGE,’ which is on the album. His most recent accomplishment is the release of his 1st single, “Let It In.” Let It In is a Love Song for the world! The approach and inspiration for the song is to connect people simply through LOVE. Spread it, share it, give it, release it, and receive it; LOVE is all around, Let It In!
