David Benoit & Jeff Lorber hands jazz fans a “Boarding Pass” for their latest single

David Benoit has known his way around the acoustic piano for 50 years through solo works on the classic Steinway piano, sharing the adoration of animated icon Charlie Brown, and as a masterful musician who has teamed with many esteemed contemporary jazz friends. In fact, this Billboard Top 50 chartmaker representing jazz and contemporary jazz recorded memorable collaborations such as David Benoit & Friends featuring trumpeter Rick Braun & vocalist Lindsey Webster and joined saxophonist Dave Koz’s 20th Anniversary Christmas release.

Now Benoit calls on another legendary producer/keyboardist, Jeff Lorber, to compliment the latest track, “Boarding Pass” (SRG Jazz/SoNo Recording Group), a pleasing soundtrack for the travelling ear. Between Benoit’s graceful acoustic piano covering pop, soul and classical ground alongside Lorber’s co-production and synthesizer, this is why David Benoit is one of jazz’s forever trusted artists. Setting the rhythmic foundation for “Boarding Pass” includes veteran bass guitarist Cornelius Mims.
