(Los Angeles, CA – June 19, 2026) – R&B Soul singer and American Idol winner Jamal Roberts has made an anthem that will be the soundtrack to those memorable “Daddy/Daughter” moments.
Jamal’s new single “Girl Dad,” out now via BMG, opens with his daughter’s voice, and from his first note, you can hear the love pour out. Produced by Emile Ghantous and written by Emile Ghantous, Balewa Muhammad, Jamal Roberts, Jordan Orvosh, the track has a warm foundation with a soulful two-step feel that a father and his daughter can sing together, just the two of them, creating the kind of memories that last forever.
Roberts’ soaring vocals carry the weight of what fatherhood feels like. Over production that feels good from the beginning to the end and lyrics like “Your eyes remind me of a time when I was young and I first learned how to love a selfless love,” Jamal gets honest about the protection, the sacrifice, watching his daughters grow up, and how it hits differently than anything else.
“Being a father to my daughters has taught me a different kind of love — a selfless love,” Roberts explains. “I wanted this song to celebrate every little moment, from painting nails and picking out bows to one day walking them down the aisle. “Girl Dad” is the follow-up release to previously released singles “Perfect for Me” and “Head Up.” Each record proves the same thing: Roberts has the voice, the heart, and the willingness to be vulnerable.
In addition to releasing more music, Jamal has been on the road entertaining fans across the country. He opened for Brandy & Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine Tour,” performed as part of the 19/Atlantic Records/American Idol CMA Fest Takeover, and sold out shows at City Wineries and theaters across the country.
