Soul superchargers The 7:45s bring bonus grooves to the ‘Spin Off’ LP
Here comes the ‘Spin Off’ from Manchester funk & soul collective The 7:45s – nine solid gold summer shakers, spearheaded by their version of the back on-trend ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ by The Rolling Stones and the Rick James-inspired ‘You’ll Never Love A Girl.’
‘Spin Off’ extends the celebrations of last year’s ‘Spinning’ LP, The 7:45s’ acclaimed debut album offering funk and soul made to blitz Northern ballrooms and plazas on the pier.
Recorded at Stockport’s EVE Studios and featuring guest vocalists Martin Connor, Nicole Battick, Yemi Bolatiwa and Benjamin Lee Smith, The 7:45s bring together the best the Manchester scene has to offer. Sam Flynn’s ensemble, full of made-for-stage musicianship and time-honoured horn and rhythm sections putting peps in steps and shuffles into soft shoes, is a classic, energetic honouring of Northern Soul and Motown, while comfortably cruising through daytime airwaves and powering down for end of the night slowies.
