Acclaimed saxophonist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Charles Langford releases his highly anticipated new single, “Savor,” now available as of September 25, 2026, on all major digital streaming platforms.
The smooth, sophisticated and soulful instrumental showcases the depth, versatility and emotional artistry that have distinguished Langford’s remarkable musical journey.
A Springfield, Massachusetts native, Langford has been writing music since his teenage years and has developed into a versatile multi-instrumentalist whose command of the tenor, alto and soprano saxophones, clarinet and flute reflects his extraordinary musicianship.
Langford’s musical education is equally impressive. After attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the New School for Social Research in New York City, he studied composition and teaching with renowned jazz masters Billy Harper, Donald Byrd and Barry Harris, among others.
Earlier in his development, he also studied with legendary musicians Archie Shepp and Yusef Lateef, helping shape the foundation of his musical voice.
Over the course of his career, Langford has established himself as one of the Boston area’s respected A-list players, performing with an impressive roster of artists that includes The Toni Lynn Washington Blues Band, The Temptations and Mighty Sam McClain.
He has also shared his talents with acclaimed artists including Melvin Sparks, Norman Connors, Solomon Burke and Steve Turre, building a reputation grounded in experience, versatility and an unwavering commitment to the music.

They taught him how to listen, to recognize the differences between Count Basie and Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker and John Coltrane, and eventually introduced him to the music of Grover Washington Jr.
That early exposure helped set him on a lifelong path toward becoming a recording artist and performer.

The new single “Savor” was written by Michael Broening, with Charles Langford on saxophone and Michael Broening on piano, keyboards, synth bass and drum programming.
