Up-and-Coming Jazz/Pop Singer Heidi Tann Releases Cover of Classic “Baby Come Back” feat. Guitarist Nils
Indie pop jazz artist, Heidi Tann, has released a new single: “Baby Come Back”, a remake of the 1977 AT40 hit from British-American rock band, Player. Rendered in Heidi Tann’s signature smooth and vibrant style, this version is certain to resonate with modern pop jazz fans. While the single officially released on April 15th, pre-release promotional plays and online sales have already placed the song at the top of several indie charts.
“Recording a remake of Player’s ‘Baby Come Back’ has always been on my list,” Heidi shared. “Growing up, it is one of those songs I loved to sing along to and hum in inspired moments. After my single, ‘Good Vibez’, was submitted for Grammy consideration last year, I felt that this song is a good follow up as it allows me to bring the elements of jazz, R&B, and a slight emotionality into it.”
“Baby Come Back” features the guitar artistry of Nils, a Billboard smooth jazz artist. Nils is the artist behind the classic hit, ‘Pacific Coast Highway’. Heidi Tann and music arranger Bobby Gomez started collaborating on doing a remake of “Baby Come Back” in 2021. After Heidi did a few shows with Nils as a special guest, she and Bobby invited him to collaborate on the remake. “I am extra excited over this single because of Nils’ participation,” Heidi adds. “Additionally, sound engineering was provided by Grammy winning producer Pete Tokar. This is just such a wonderful collaboration with very talented artists.”
“Baby Come Back” is playing in all independent and satellite smooth jazz stations in the US , Europe, Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, Southeast Asia, with more markets being added.
