Singer Judith Hill Releases Video for New Single “Upside” | WATCH!
JUDITH HILL RELEASES VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE ‘UPSIDE’
Multi-instrumentalist, Grammy award winning vocalist and songwriter Judith Hill is back with highly anticipated single ‘Upside’, following the success of the album ‘Golden Child’.
‘Upside’ is a funky feel-good tune topped with Judith’s trademark powerful vocals, underpinned with an irresistible bass line that leads the listener straight to the dance floor. Judith describes the track: “Upside is a about looking on the bright side of life. Often times we can bogged down by negativity, but when we look on the upside, we find that there are so many amazing opportunities around us.” ‘Upside’ was written by Judith in Nashville, in collaboration with the talented writers Trent Dabbs and Danny Burke, Burke also produced the track.
The energetic video was shot in Bangkok, Thailand. Judith says “It was definitely on my bucket list to go to Thailand, I had such a blast dancing on rooftops and in the colourful streets and alleyways of Bangkok.” The video features a mystery man leaving his hotel room to the opening strains of the track to explore the city. He is soon unable to resist the groove of the track and dances around the city, encountering Judith and her band performing the song along the way.
Judith will spend summer 2019 touring Europe, Canada, and the US with her latest acclaimed studio album ‘Golden Child’ that was released in November last year. She has also started work on a new album due for release next year. Hill has already garnered much praise for her live performances as opener for the likes of her former collaborator and mentor, the late great Prince and soul man John Legend, among many others. ‘Golden Child’ was written, produced and arranged by Hill: brimming with the funky R&B for which she has become known—via appearances on The Voice USA and the Oscar-winning documentary feature 20 Feet From Stardom.
In addition to penning and performing her own material, she has backed artists such as Stevie Wonder and the late Michael Jackson. Hers is one of the stories told in director Morgan Neville’s acclaimed and Oscar winning 20 Feet From Stardom, a film that shines the spotlight on the untold true story of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century. The film has also won a Film Critics Award and a 2015 Grammy for Best Music Film.
