“When Brandon Ford, Devin Shaw and I created this track together, the first thing I thought about is creating a song that would uplift the listener and encourage them to stay on their journey. I began to write, and Brandon & Devin chimed in. My thoughts were, while staying focused, one would block out all the outside noise, ugliness happening in the world, all the pain they’ve endured, loss that they’ve had and all the crippling, criticisms they’ve received during their entire lives. It’s important to break free, release pain, keep hold of your dreams, be diligent and continue winning. I realized it has to START WITH ME.”

“IT STARTS WITH ME” is about self-examination and traveling within one’s self. As a result, it makes you look into your soul and search for brokenness and loneliness, helping you to realize how you are treated and viewed by people. This song will also help you to focus on what’s important and not focus on all the negativity that occurs on the outside. It’s important to concentrate on you and individual growth. You can only change your own heart and soul. In other words, it has to start internally. This also encourages you to pick up pieces, get healing for your heart, alienate negativity from your life, and pray. Finally, you cry out to God for help. The revelation comes to light that you have to keep thinking positive, fight to fulfill your dreams, avoid distraction, realize the inner power that you possess, stay on the path that God put you on and never forgetting that, IT STARTS WITH YOU… ”
