David Walker, “The Country Boy” grew-up with three major passions: a
love of music; a love for horses; and a deeper love for God. David’s
unique style is smooth, yet sultry. Growing up as a country boy, David
knows everything there is to know about country living, including rodeos
and trail riding. His latest project, “It Is What It Is” combines
sultry R&B with his unique silky gospel-tinged vocals; his infused
sound sets him apart from any other artist of his time.
Music has always been a way of life, even at
the early age of 7. David would go to out with his Dad, and the juke box
would be playing and he would dance so hard that people would give him
money… David’s Dad would take him to see the Mighty Clouds of Joy and
the William Brothers; as he grew older, he was influenced by the likes
of Michael Jackson, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Gap Band and so many
others including Canton Spirituals, Anthony Hamilton, Calvin Richardson
and Mint Condition.
His down home, yet amazingly unique style brings you into a whole new
genre of music. As you begin to listen and indulge in the songs on the
album, your mind will take you to a place where only dreams reside: A
place where all your senses are captured, massage and then released into
a tranquil state.
David’s eclectic and mesmerizing voice grabs
you and doesn’t let go until the end of the album. He describes his
music as catfish and syrup-fulfilling, and good for the soul. His fan
base ranges from ages 25-50 and even older because he is such a diverse
artist that is able to attract fans who like Gospel, R&B and Zydeco.
David performs several shows per year with more booking being added
continuously.
He hopes that his music will be felt around the world as he continues to
write and perform good music, he is also humbled by the fact that he’s
been receiving airplay and is hoping that more stations will embrace his
music and the message of love that he often sing about.
David envisions his music touching the hearts of many, and reaching them
right where they are. “When listening to the album, I want something I
sang about to make you want to capture the moment.” David stated.
His mission is to destroy boundaries and
change the hearts of man through good soul-felt music…”an appealing
show, but not for show.” This mind-boggling statement reveals David’s
heart. He has truly found his ultimate calling in life through music,
and encourages those to identify themselves. This music is very
unapologetic… it is what it is
