Curtis Haywood was born and raised in Brooklyn, with an affinity for his namesake, famed r&b saxophonist King Curtis. Haywood’s early love for music eventually led to his being chosen from some 5,000 candidates to attend New York’s prestigious high school for the performing arts. He went on to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied audio engineering.
