Reggae Songstress Queen Ifrica Releases New Album “Breath of Life” | LISTEN!

QUEEN IFRICA EXHALES FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM BREATH OF LIFE

ALBUM RELEASE SHOW AT JAZZ CAFE IN LONDON ON AUGUST 25

AUGUST 14, 2026 (NEW YORK, NY) – Reggae firebrand Queen Ifrica has released her highly anticipated fourth album, Breath of Life, via Nuh Rush Records/Tuff Gong International. Featuring production work from longtime collaborator, current manager, and Nuh Rush Records chief, Junior Brown (aka IAmNuhRush), as well as multiple-Grammy winner Stephen “Ragga” Marley, the 13-track project, which includes the previously released singles “Mom Like Me” and “Lanton (Lantern),” is out today on all digital platforms.

The title track, produced by Stephen Marley, serves as a fitting opener for the album, as Queen Ifrica delivers an emotional prayer of thanks and praise over Marley’s acoustic orchestral arrangement:

Breathe on me
Breath of life
Fill me with life anew
That I may love what thou thus love
And do what thou thus do

What follows, is 12 tracks of masterful one drop reggae showcasing the Montego Bay native’s vocal chops and lyrical prowess on a range of material that covers the full spectrum of human experience as Queen Ifrica offers reflections on life, love, spirituality, and sensuality. Junior Brown spearheads the production, backed by top-tier Jamaican maestros like Colin “Bulby” York and Jason “j-Vibe” Farmer, equipping Breath of Life with the heavy bass and driving beats necessary to match the power of the “Fyah Muma’s” captivating delivery.

On “Speechless,” Ifrica shares a moment of vulnerability as she confesses her love to a significant other. “Pelican” brings the breezy island vibes. “Spoonful” finds the Queen boldly flirting with a man who is already taken. The uptempo “Bad Girl” is poised to be the anthem that party girls everywhere needed to close out summer 2026. “My Highgrade” sends up the smokiest vibes for all ganja lovers. “Excellent Jah” provides a mid-album chant of praise to the Almighty. “Weeping Willow” urgently calls for African strength through unity in this time of struggle. “Mom Like Me,” which was released earlier this year to coincide with the Mother’s Day holiday, earned praise from media hub WorldAReggae: “you can hear that seasoned, roots authority in her voice, she isn’t playing a character here.” The song is a proper segue into “New Version Of Me,” which features the only guest appearance slots on the project, which were reserved for Ifrica’s children, Tanzie, Malawi, and Imeru Tafari. While the next generation artists perform with musical maturity, the Queen playfully reminds them that she used to “clean your nose, wipe your asses, make sure that you’re early for classes.” On “Change the World,” Queen Ifrica remind us all that, through love, we can shift the course of the planet’s destiny. “Raggamuffin Style” is an uplifting tune to inspire working people and hustlers to keep Jah close and walk with pride. Closing out the set is “Lanton (Lantern),” where Ifrica militantly shines a light on the darkness of a modern day Babylon who awaits Jah’s judgement.

Queen Ifrica shared her thoughts on the new complete body of work:”Working on this album was my absolute pleasure. I completely and totally enjoyed every moment of the process — the people I got to work with, the record label I’m a part of. The energy every time in the studio when we met to do the recordings was always on the highest of frequencies. I’m so humbled and honored that the project is finally here, about to be released to a beautiful audience of music lovers all over the world. I pray that it will bring comfort to the listeners’ ears, joy to the spirit, and all the different emotions that I shared in the album will be accepted with a wholesomeness that is unexplainable.”

In support of the new album, Queen Ifrica will be playing a special album release show at the legendary Jazz Cafe in London on August 25. More details on the Jazz Cafe event here.
