Rising UK jazz and soul artist Aria will release her brand new single ‘Resentment’ on 7th August. ‘Resentment’ was co-written with acclaimed songwriter and producer Sarah Gillespie, pianist & composer William Hobson and guitarist/composer Chris Montague. Featuring Trish Clowes on saxophone and Poppy Daniels on trumpet, the release marks the next chapter for Aria as she builds toward her highly anticipated debut album, set for release on 25th September 2026, alongside a headline launch show at PizzaExpress Live Soho on 21st September.
Aria’s debut single, ‘Rectify Your Soul’, received airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Introducing, and remained on the Jazz FM playlist for five consecutive weeks, including one week as ‘Track Of The Week’. Jazz FM’s Simon Phillips described her as: “A future classic, a young lady on the verge of a huge breakthrough.”
Her recent single ‘It’s All Your Fault’ was again named Track Of The Week on Jazz FM and also received airplay on BBC Radio 2, where DJ Spoony called the track “the best of now.” Following the release Aria was invited onto BBC London to discuss her journey and upcoming album
Speaking about her new single ‘Resentment’, Aria says: I wanted to write a song about finding strength in letting go. Grief is part of healing, Resentment only keeps you there.
Over the last few years, Aria has performed at some of London’s most prestigious venues, including Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho, The 606 Club, and Crazy Coqs for a sold out headline EFG London Jazz Festival show. In May 2025, she appeared at the launch of the non-profit organisation She Writes Songs at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, performing alongside Sarah Gillespie, Rumer, Sarah Jane Morris, Polly Gibbons, Jo Harrop, and Shaznay Lewis (All Saints).
Following her performance on the Free Stage at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2025, UK Jazz News described her as “an enticing talent” and “one to watch.” This year, Aria was subsequently selected to perform at the festival’s Arena Showcase, opening for Nectar Woode in the 900-capacity DEYA Arena. Festival Director Ian George said: “A true one to watch. Aria is a rising star in UK soul. She has wowed audiences across Cheltenham Jazz Festival stages, including a standout opening set for Nectar Woode.”
With her soulful voice and genre-blending songwriting, Aria is rapidly emerging as one of the UK’s most exciting new artists.
