The Whispers Announce Historic 60th Anniversary Album
“Remember the past, honoring the present, embracing the future”
Releasing February 13, 2026
The countdown is on for the legendary Whispers’ latest historical album, set to be released on February 13, 2026—the day before Valentine’s Day. In remembrance of the group’s former members, and in acknowledgment of Walter Scott’s final recorded performances, Scotty and Leaveil honor them all. Spanning from 1964 to 2024, The 60th Anniversary Album features songs that cover six decades, ranging from some of their most memorable hits to selections from their newest catalog. Since their formation in 1964, The Whispers have had only six members.
The founding lineup included twins Wallace “Scotty” Scott and Walter Scott, along with Nicholas Caldwell, Marcus Hutson, and Gordy Harmon. In 1972, Leaveil Degree replaced Gordy Harmon, and remarkably, there have been no lineup changes since.
The first and third tracks, “It’s Been Too Long” and “How Long,” reflect the length of time since the group’s last album release—19 years ago—with For Your Ears Only, released in 2006.
Track Listing:
1. It’s Been Too Long
2. Let’s Get It On
3. How Long
4. Olivia (Whispers Version)
5. Butta
6. Rock Steady (Whispers’ Radio Edit)
7. Hold On
8. It’s a Love Thing (Whispers’ Version)
9. Keep On Loving Me (Whispers’ Version)
10. Don’t Say No
11. Maybe the Fire Isn’t Out
12. And the Beat Goes On (Whispers’ Dance Version)
Despite the heartbreaking loss of Walter Scott in June 2025, Scotty and Leaveil continue to carry the torch. With great difficulty, but even greater love, they honor his memory by continuing to perform and create new music—keeping The Whispers’ legacy alive in appreciation of the fans who have supported them for more than six decades. As the songs on this album declare, “And the Beat Goes On,” and as their latest single reminds us, “Maybe the Fire Isn’t Out.”
