Jordan Smith stamps his precious voice on a beloved hymn, “How Great Thou Art”

One of the most accomplished artists who won The Voice, Jordan Smith, has never lost a step when releasing poignant performances, including the pop/inspirational standards debut from 2016, Something Beautiful. But the 2025 upcoming project, The People’s Hymnal, from Gaither Music Group, headed by Southern Gospel legend, Bill Gaither, is more than a recorded experience with the Kentucky native reliving his early days worshiping in a Appalachian Mountains church.

In the hands of co-producers Tommy Sims and Colin Linden, the first single from The People’s Hymnal, “How Great Thou Art” transforms into another vocal standout for Smith digging in with soulful purpose without losing the intent behind the resounding chorus: “Then sings my soul/My Savior God to thee.”
