Rising Nigerian-American Gospel Vocalist Iryne Rock Releases New EP “Never Known”

Iryne Rock is a singer, songwriter and worship leader with a distinct and electrifying sound that is quickly becoming a favorite among lovers of Gospel and Christian music across the globe. She grew up in her home country Nigeria listening to all genres of Christian and Inspirational music, which she credits helped shape her musical style before relocating to the United States where she is currently based. She would sing along to WOW CDs and inadvertently fell in love with artists like Cece Winans, Kirk Franklin, Panam Percy Paul, DC Talk, Newsboys and Michael W. Smith to name a few. Iryne began writing her own songs in her teen years, and was encouraged to share some of the songs with the congregation at RCCG Solomon’s Porch Worship Center in Jessup Maryland where she leads worship. The positive response reinforced what the Holy Spirit laid in her heart and birthed her first album, Just For You, in 2018.

It was an enlightening venture into music for her that led to an encounter with Grammy and Dove nominated producer Billy Smiley. Together they produced a worship EP, “Grateful,” released in May 2021. Even though she was never one to label herself as a worship artist, working on and releasing a worship EP offered a different perspective and was an experience she truly enjoyed. Iryne followed up her Grateful EP release with a single, What Love Is, released in July 2021. The song highlights Iryne as a dynamic, multifaceted, Nigerian-American, Christian Pop artist.

On January 1st 2022, Iryne sang the National Anthem at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC at the NBA game between the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls with 19,000 plus attendees, an experience she is not too soon to forget.

Iryne has a new album out, Never Known – EP, released in March 30, 2022 featuring 5 tracks including her last single What Love Is. She is also back in the studio working on new Afrocentric songs that highlights her Nigerian heritage. As a wife, mother, singer and songwriter, Iryne is excited to continue her journey spreading love and joy through her music.
