The New Single and Video are off her Debut CD: The Janice Peterson Project – God Is Real…Live in Houston

Houston, Texas (July 30, 2013) – Every now and then a songwriter pens an awe inspiring song designed to usher listeners into a place that produces an atmosphere of pure, harmonious, exaltation and worship.

A song which has been prophetically birthed from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, while simultaneously capturing the psalmist’s very heart for God. Janice Peterson’s latest offering “You Are” from her debut CD, The Janice Peterson Project – God Is Real…Live in Houston is that kind of song.

“You Are” is a new single from Houston’s own Contemporary Christian artist, Janice Peterson that evokes listeners to partake in a worship experience. Janice remarks, “The songwriter’s lyrics truly communicate the sentiments of worship in my heart. It’s as if he knew my private thoughts toward God…You are mercy, You are healing, You are a Holy God, You are power; You’re redemption, You are a Holy God.”

This powerful song originated in the studio after Janice’s friend, manager and producer Ki Kyham heard another song from the project Janice wrote entitled “God Is Real”. A conversation ensued and Ki suggested they do an entire worship project together. The goal was to produce a full CD that would display Janice as an artist who could go outside of her traditional upbringing and have mass appeal. “My desire is to reach the unchurched, people of all walks of life who are outside the church walls and may not know who God is. Like Jesus – I want to meet people where they are and invoke them to draw nearer to him.”

Janice recalls, “Upon hearing “You Are,” for the first time I knew God had birth the song in Ki’s spirit because it captured exactly what was in my heart…I grew up in a very traditional church and I have always known from an early age that I would be singing before masses of people,” she continued, “I have always expressed my love to God through songs and journaling which I still do today. My relationship with God is very intimate and I always want to be led by His Spirit.”

The accompanying video is a visual journey of her expression. The song was produced by Ki Kyham. It was directed by Kyham, K. Lamar and A. Auguste of HD Publications. Shot on location against the thrilling attraction, backdrop of Moody Gardens, the historical beachfront San Luis Resort and the calming island waters of Galveston, Texas. Beautiful wide angle location shots highlight the beauty of what God has created in the earth and remind us of how BIG our God is. “I’ve always loved water and it represents the living water of the Holy Spirit, explains Janice. The scenes represent a strong, triumphant and vivid declaration of how awesome God is and the freedom that is found in him.
