Emphasis Records Announces The Release of

Stevie Hawkins “What the Funk?” Album

Emphasis Records announces the release of
Stevie Hawkins “What the Funk?” album. The album containing 19 tracks
spans the world of Funk and Soul music from the late 1960’s to the
present.

Atlanta,
Georgia,
United States of America
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 5, 2011 —

The album, aptly titled “What The Funk?” explores the evolution of funk
throughout the years. The album’s style is a mix of several genres,
such as Soul, Blues, Jazz, Latin and the many other influences that make
Funk music what it is.

Stevie says “I was more concerned with
instrumentation on this album than my previous two releases. Funk has
influenced my entire musical career yet the musical genius’ behind the
genre have not seen the spotlight in just as many eras. I believe the
audience is there, we just have to bring it to them in a way that the
current music industry does not. There are just 12 notes in all of
music, and what Funk does is take all of those influences and those 12
notes and fuses them into something magical and that just gets you
grooving”. To continue, please click “MORE”!

loved music, understood his craft and HAD RESPECT FOR THE CREATIVE WORK
from which his mixes were derived”

“Henry Street Grooves” (By Various Artists) | Coming March 21st, 2011

Henry Street Grooves – Classic Deep, Funky and Jazzy House from New York by Various Artists

Back at the tail end of the last millennium BBE released a comprehensive
over view of house music in the latter stages of the 20th century.
‘Henry Street Music: The Story So Far – 1993 To 1999’ was a slice of
superior contemporary club classics featuring all of the key players,
architects and music makers of the day. Todd Terry, Armand Van Helden,
Kenny Dope, DJ Sneak, 95 North, Robbie Rivera, Davidson Ospina, Ralphi
Rosario, Mike Delgado, King Britt, and a handful of others under various
alter egos and nom de plumes. It was a given that they were all great
records, what was all the more impressive was that they all originated
from the same recording home, Henry Street Music. A label conceived and
devised by Johnny DeMairo, an Italian-American from Brooklyn who talked
the talk, could easily have been an extra in The Soprano’s, and was
known affectionately as “The Shark”. To others he was just plain Johnny
“D”, and one half of the pro! duction duo JohNick with studio partner
Nicky “P” Palermo Jr. To continue, Please click “MORE”!

guitar virtuosos of our generation (Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes), some
of the biggest names in hip-hop (Questlove, Rahzel), and some of the
most inventive improvisational players in modern rock n’ roll (Robert
