Grammy Winner LATROIT Unveils The Music Video for “Finally”
Featuring World Renown Jazz Bassist Ron Carter
The Lead Single From LATROIT’S House Ensemble Debut Album Classics Volume 1
“One of jazz music’s most iconic bassists reimagines one of house music’s most enduring classics…”
LOS ANGELES, CA: GRAMMY Award-winning producer LATROIT (Dennis White) today announced the release of the cinematic companion for “Finally,” the lead single from the Latroit House Ensemble’s Classics Vol 1 featuring the legendary jazz bassist Ron Carter, whose career spans more than six decades. Carter anchored Miles Davis’ iconic Second Great Quintet from 1963 to 1968 and, with more than 2,200 recording sessions to his name, is widely recognized as one of the most influential bassists in jazz history. “Finally” marks Mr. Carters first exploration in to house music.
Rather than sampling one of Carter’s historic recordings, Latroit invited him to create an entirely new bass performance for the the enduring house music classic by Kings of Tomorrow. The result is a rare collaboration between one of jazz’s most influential musicians and a GRAMMY Award-winning producer, bringing together two artists whose careers have been shaped by improvisation, musical expression, and community. Carter recorded his performance in New York in June 2026, joining Latroit in the studio to create a new interpretation of one of house music’s most enduring anthems.
In speaking about the recording process Ron Carter said: “This is a first for me (something I have not said for quite a while)… I enjoyed it. Thank you for providing me with another form to ‘find the right notes’.” “Recording with Ron Carter was one of the high points of my entire career. It was an interesting combination of humbling & empowering, intimidating & inspirational, serious & fun,” said Dennis White.
“Ramin (co-producer) and I studied Mr. Carter when we were at Berklee College of Music together. We knew in real time that we were experiencing something monumental. The fact that the Maestro agreed to record with us gave our entire project new energy and purpose… like ‘Wow… if Ron Carter vouches for this project… we can do ANYthing!”
The music video for “Finally” was directed by Priscilla Jimenez, the Latroit Ensemble’s creative director who has worked with world’s most recognizable artists and brands
Speaking about the “Finally” video, PJ states “ I approached Dennis with an idea for the “Finally” music video with no storyboards and no crew—and he, of course said yes, immediately. These days I rarely step behind the camera as a Director of Photography but the concept required trust, intimacy, and a very small production footprint therefore I was happy to both DP and direct for the first time in years.
The concept for “Finally” was simple: to highlight the intimate nature of the song and capture the sessions throughout the world where it was recorded. We flew to each location and ended our production in New York, where we recorded Mr. Carter in a live session.
The film encapsulates the entire nature of our band, the song, and our approach to friends, family, and creativity. The entire experience was deeply intimate, raw, and sensible.”
LATROIT’S recently released Classics Vol. 1, is the debut album from the Latroit House Ensemble, hvia House of Latroit / Symphonic. Dedicated to preserving the spirit and cultural legacy of house music through live performance, the album brings together an international cast of artists from the worlds of house, jazz, gospel, and beyond, including legendary jazz bassist Ron Carter, the Soweto Gospel Choir, South African vocalist Nomvula Munnie, and UK vocalist Nick Clow.
