Today, Wichita-based electronic-jam outfit 2ŁØT releases its sophomore album RE/SOLVE, an ambitious 16-track journey through identity, loss, connection, self-reflection, and what happens after survival. The follow-up to the band’s debut album Entropy, RE/SOLVE expands both the scope of 2ŁØT’s genre-blurring sound and the creative community surrounding it, bringing together GRAMMY-winning artists Jon Batiste, Robert Randolph, and Eric Krasno, alongside 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Cameron McCloud of Cure for Paranoia, Elise Trouw, Frank Moka, Mariel Jacoda, The Funky Knuckles, and others.
With the full album now available, listeners can also hear “Don’t Give Up On Me” featuring Jon Batiste, one of the record’s most anticipated collaborations and the latest in a remarkable series of tracks from RE/SOLVE pairing 2ŁØT with artists from across the musical spectrum. Batiste joins a collection of collaborators that includes Robert Randolph on “I Need You To Believe,” Eric Krasno on the soulful “Iris,” Cameron McCloud and Elise Trouw on “I Hurt Myself Again,” Frank Moka on “Tread,” and Mariel Jacoda on album closer “I Want It All.”
That breadth is central to RE/SOLVE. Rather than treating genre as a boundary, 2ŁØT uses its self-described Electronic Jam Music (EJM) as a meeting point for electronic production, live improvisation, soul, funk, jazz, rock, and hip hop. The result is an album that can move from hypnotic electronic grooves and atmospheric introspection to jazz-inflected interplay and deeply soulful live performances while still feeling rooted in the same larger story.
That story begins where Entropy left off. 2ŁØT formed as its members were navigating loss and major life changes, taking its name from the Second Law of Thermodynamics and building the project around the idea of using creativity, connection, and purpose to push back against the disorder that inevitably shapes our lives. If Entropy confronted that chaos, RE/SOLVE turns toward what happens afterward.
The band describes the album as a “Second Hero’s Journey” – the less tidy process that begins after the initial breakthrough, when the survival story has already been told but the work of understanding who you have become is only beginning. Across 16 tracks, the album moves through changing identities, relationships, disillusionment, self-reflection, and renewal without pretending that transformation arrives at a clean endpoint.
“The aim is to mythologize the cyclical process of self-reflection, transformation, and self-actualization through a Campbellian archetypal lens,” shares vocalist Rudy Love Jr. “The songs are specifically written and ordered to tell a story that takes the listener on this adventure with us.”
