Hil St. Soul Releases Official Video for Title Track “Nasalifya” | WATCH! New Album Coming in March 2026
HIL ST. SOUL OFFERS AN ABUNDANCE OF GRATITUDE ON FIRST SINGLE FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM OF THE SAME TITLE NASALIFYA (THANK YOU) OUT LATE MARCH 2026
Hil St. Soul (singer Hilary Mwelwa) has just released the first song from her forthcoming and sixth recording Nasalifya due out on Shanachie Entertainment late March 2026 The album’s title track which means “thank you,” is the subject of her moving new video, a tribute to her father who passed in 2024. The video was filmed in her native Zambia, where she spent the past year living with family following his passing. “It’s a spiritual song about divine reflection, full of humanity, gratitude, hope and the deepest ‘thank you’, to those who have lived to inspire us all to follow in the footprints of their achievements,” shares the singer. At the end of the video there is a black and white photo of her parents when they first married. “There’s a line in the second verse of the song that says, ‘With the spirit of my ancestors to guide me.’ This is in reference to my dad who is no longer with us, but his spirit lives on through me and my music. My dad was the one that introduced me to the music that’s woven into the songs that I create for others to enjoy.”
Hil St. Soul started writing the song “Nasalifya” halfway through making the album and when her father passed, she admits that it was a challenge to finish making the album. “I parked the song to one side and completed it right at the end of the project. It ended up being the last song I finished on the album. It has deep meaning for me.” Returning back to Zambia and having the ability to make the video there was healing for the London based vocalist. “Life is so simple yet so rewarding,” she confides, “Being back home in Zambia has been therapeutic and cathartic for me as it’s where dad was laid to rest. It’s allowed me to deal with his loss a lot better even though it is an ongoing process. Spending time in the family home makes me feel closer to him.”
Hil St. Soul collaborates with producer Regi Myrix on the entire new album. It is the first time since her debut that she has collaborated with solely one producer, a decision she shares was intentional. “I’m excited about the musical landscape that myself and Regi Myrix have created. The sonics, production and message in the music on this album is really quite different from my other album projects. There is growth and evolution. There is a consistency in the movement and a seamless progression of the album. I honestly believe every track on this album deserves to be on there. This project was a labour of love. I’ve poured my heart and soul into it.”
