Brian Culbertson Releases New Project “Day Trip” | WATCH NEW VIDEO!
Brian Culbertson captures a Day Trip for his latest studio album and 29th overall release
Through his illustrious career as a multi-instrumentalist, jazz master, and behind the boards (producer and engineer), Brian Culbertson has more than achieved his musical aspirations. Since the mid-nineties, he has remained proficient releasing albums without long hiatuses, placing on Billboard traditional and contemporary jazz charts, many at number #1. Just over a decade ago, Culbertson formed his BCM Entertainment moniker, further extending his musical independence. Coming off his live experience CD/DVD earlier in 2025, The Trilogy Tour, the Illinois native guides the listener on his latest full-length, Day Trip, anchored by pure arrangements that stray from pre-programmed instrumentation and extra effects.
This soundtrack accentuates the different aspects of a remarkable day trip. Selected highlights include the opening track, “Morning Light,” where the percussion shadows the melodies from Culbertson and saxophonist Eric Marienthal. For a romantic frame of mind, “With You” spotlights Culbertson’s piano paintings. Branford Marsalis pumps up some fusion vibes with fluid saxophone work on “U-Turn.” “The Winding Path” feeds off several time changes and a pinch of Latin hooks featuring Mike Stern on guitar. Day Trip comes to a close as Culbertson fondly remembers “Home.” There are many seasoned musicians contributing to this travel scrapbook, including Nathan East, Paul Jackson, Jr. and Lenny Castro.
Enjoy this memorable ride that also includes the debut single “On The Road” alongside Sheila E. and Marcus Miller.
Day Trip is currently available on most digital platforms.
