Expansion Records Marks the Birthday of Bernard “Beloyd” Taylor with Limited Edition Vinyl Reissue
London, UK; September 2025 – Expansion Records proudly celebrates the legacy of soul singer, songwriter, and musician Bernard “Beloyd” Taylor with the release of a limited edition 7-inch vinyl reissue of his highly sought-after 1977 single, “Get Into Your Life” / “Today All Day.” The reissue arrives in time to mark what would have been Taylor’s 73rd birthday on 7 September 2025, offering fans a chance to rediscover a remarkable artist whose influence continues to resonate across modern soul music.
Best known as the co-writer of Earth, Wind & Fire’s hit “Getaway,” Taylor established himself as both a performer and creator throughout the 1970s and early ’80s. His career included time with the band S.O.U.L. and live work alongside Earth, Wind & Fire, showcasing his versatility as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter.
Originally pressed in 1977, “Get Into Your Life” has since become an all-time modern soul classic. The track’s enduring popularity among collectors has fuelled demand for this long-awaited reissue. Expansion Records’ new pressing ensures that Taylor’s work remains accessible to both seasoned vinyl enthusiasts and a new generation of soul listeners.
Taylor, born 7 September 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on 13 January 2014. This year’s reissue not only honours his life and music but also reinforces his lasting impact on the soul community.
