KOOL & THE GANG TURN UP THE HEAT WITH NEW
KOOL SUMMER EP
OUT NOW
INCLUDES REMIXES BY YOUNG FRANCO, DJ CRAZY, PRINCE HAKIM BELL, & MORE
(Los Angeles, CA) July 25, 2025: – Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® Inductees and iconic New Jersey R&B group Kool & The Gang share their brand new Kool Summer EP out now via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe).
Kool & The Gang re-energize and reimagine various classics from their catalog with 6 brand new Official Remixes on the EP. The R&B trailblazers carefully assembled a cohort of global producers and remixers to bring Kool Summer to life. They first paved the way for the EP with Young Franco’s “Celebration,” which has already clocked half-a-million Spotify streams since dropping in June.
Australian DJ and Producer Young Franco brings 21st century house music energy to the “Celebration,” underscoring the timeless hook with a fast-paced beat and glossy synths. “Get Down On It” pops off as a summer-ready banger tailormade for clubs, pool parties, festivals, and beyond. Of course, “Get Down On It” remains a funk staple and one of the most recognizable R&B songs of all-time. Dominating charts on both sides of the Atlantic, it notably vaulted into the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and Top 5 on the UK Singles Chart. It also received a Platinum certification from the RIAA in 2024.
Young Franco has notched 4 ARIA Certified Gold Records, and he has sold out tours on multiple continents, packing houses across the U.S., Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Expanding his influence once again, he landed a massive sync with Mazda this year.
Among other standouts on Kool Summer, DJ Crazy’s Jersey Club Remix of “Celebration” infuses this staple with a rush of dancefloor-ready energy. Right out of the gate, it quickly generated nearly 100K Spotify streams and landed plugs from TheUrbanMusicScene and more. DJ Crazy turns up the tempo to hyper-speed. The BPMs dramatically increase, transforming the song into a frenetic and fiery anthem. It’s soaring and sweat-inducing all at once!
The original “Celebration” garnered a 3x-Platinum certification from the RIAA, earned induction into the GRAMMY® Hall of Fame in 2016, and was chosen for preservation in the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress during 2021 specifically cited as “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.”
The Philadelphia-born producer is renowned for producing music for the likes of 2Rare, Dsturdy, Philly Goats and more, as well as headlining shows for packed houses.
Keeping it in the family, Robert “Kool” Bell’s son Prince Hakim Bell, a globally sought-after DJ on his own, has cooked up a Remix of the 1984 RIAA Gold-certified Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit “Fresh.” With its accelerated rhythm, head-nodding beat and slippery funk guitar, this reinvention is immediately captivating.
The Reflex crafted and contributed “Celebration (The Reflex Revision Radio Edit)” and “Jungle Boogie (The Reflex Revision Radio Edit).” He leaves his imprint on both of these staples, magnifying the spirit with reverence.
“Jungle Boogie” originally peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, went RIAA Platinum, and appeared in Pulp Fiction and on the iconic 3x-Platinum Soundtrack album, among numerous other syncs.
Audiences continue to fall under London-based The Reflex’s sonic spell. Gathering over 100 million streams and counting, he has impressively collaborated with a myriad of superstars, spanning Noel Gallagher to Nile Rodgers. With numerous remixes and originals to his name, he has additionally soundtracked ads for Louis Vuitton and Karl Lagerfeld.
Says The Reflex on his latest collaborations, “It’s been a privilege to rework an iconic band, with two of their biggest tracks, from two very different eras that both changed the game musically for them and everyone else.”
Elsewhere, Tel Aviv-based electronic music maverick Adam Ten and Jackie ignite “GET DOWN.” A jazzy bassline holds the groove in place as the propulsive production slides through house and progressive stylings punctuated by a robotic vocal reimagining of the refrain. A smooth reverb-y guitar solo places an ear candy cherry on top of this version.
With an innovative approach and boundless creativity, Adam Ten has set the pace for the underground for over a decade. His signature style is evidence by such bangers as “3 Days Later,” “Spring Girl,” and more.
All of these tracks give Kool Summer its own style and swagger.
About the EP, Robert “Kool Bell” says, “We’re spending the summer touring Europe, enjoying the ‘Celebration’ of people all over the world. We try to keep the music ‘Fresh’ and exciting. It’s been great hearing the DJs put their spin on our platinum songs; celebrating while we ‘Get Down On It’ the 2025 way. Here’s to hoping everyone has a ‘Kool’ Summer.”
