Stokley Returns with New Single “Rare (no, no, no)” | LISTEN!

Stokley returns to the studio for a little something different that is “Rare (no, no, no)”

Since walking the solo career path, the man who led the charge for Mint Condition, Stokley, has dropped two albums (Introducing Stokley and Sankofa) teaming with massive talents like Snoop Dogg, Robert Glasper, Estelle, and H.E.R. Besides those collaborations, Stokley still flexes his multi-instrumental gifts while stretching his musicality, sometimes beyond the Minneapolis Sound funk/rock that is M.C. into extraordinary sonic soulful territory. Occasionally, he takes an excursion into the global realm, such as “Wheels Up” (feat. Omi), stirring up a modern Caribbean stew.

Four years after his last CD in 2021, Stokley ushers in the summertime with more global flavor on “Rare (no, no, no).” Utilizing a silky Afrobeat soundtrack, a tasty acoustic guitar leads the way decorated by colorful drums and percussion alongside the swirling keyboards accentuating a summer breeze. The key message is despite the memorable times, sometimes a refresh can be just what the mindset on love needs. As usual, Stokley handles most of the instrumentation and vocals, assisted by Ashley Commodore on backing vocals and Yonathan Bekure on bass guitar and was recorded in his hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota.

“Rare (no, no, no)” on Bluraffe Entertainment Group is currently available on most digital outlets.
