Reggae songstress/songwriter Alaine finds an eternal Answer

New Jersey born, Jamaican artist Alaine took a bold step from a comfortable day job over two decades ago where she built a solid following with several albums (Sacrifice, Luv A Dub and Ten of Hearts featuring the Bill Withers’ smash, “Ain’t No Sunshine”). Though she shaped her music experience as a songwriter (penning “Automatic” for reggae legend Marcia Griffiths) and singing hooks in her earlier days for Roc-A-Fella Records, Alaine’s 2005 single, “No Ordinary Love” jumped started her solo work that blends the smooth island sounds, classic R&B and hip-hop. Her discography also includes joining several dancehall greats Shaggy (“For Your Eyes Only”) and Beenie Man (“Dreaming of You”).

Still cranking out more recent tracks like “Never Fails,” and “Pile Up” (w/Usain Bolt), Alaine’s latest single, “Answer,” celebrates a specific prayer in discovering genuine love:

“Louder than the loudest thunder/Higher than the highest wonder/You’re the answer to my prayers.”

Producers Romeich Major and Slyda Di Wizard paint a glorious reggae/adult contemporary urban soundtrack that glides alongside Alaine’s pleasing soprano which hits a winning climatic high note.
