Cecily’s New Album will be available on July 26th

Washington, DC – June 24, 2024 – Renowned DC-based Soul and Jazz artist Cecily is thrilled to announce the release of her new album, Awakening Pt. II. The new album is Cecily’s eagerly anticipated continuation of the critically acclaimed 2019 project Awakening Pt. I.

Awakening Pt. II is set to be released on July 26, 2024 on all major streaming platforms, as well as on vinyl and CD. The thematic album showcases Cecily’s sweet, powerful vocals and poetic writing style.

Awakening Pt. II was directly inspired by Black Feminist writer bell hook’s text All About Love. The eight-track album explores unconditional love and its transformative power. Going beyond the romantic, Cecily delves into what hooks calls a “love ethic,” with songs navigating familial love, self-love, divine love, and love of the Earth.

Co-executive produced by Cecily and Drew Kid, the album also features writing and production from Jenna Camille, Muhsinah, Allyn Johnson, Aaron Abernathy, Zachary Cutler, and Jacob Ungerleider.
