IIG x Tawatha Agee to Release New Single “Moonlight”
2024 marked a major milestone for music when Tawatha Agee crossed paths with IIG. And now, Tawatha breaks the silence with an Afrosoul legacy HIT, “Moonlight.” It’s a tasty blend of Amapiano, Afrobeat & Soul. You haven’t heard anything like it. One listen, and it’ll go on repeat. Try it on the dance floor or before you dim the lights.

You’ve heard Tawatha’s sensational voice before, when she & MTUME released one of R&B and Hip-Hops and biggest records: “Juicy Fruit.” In 1994 Notorious B.I.G. sampled it to make “Juicy,” which is often said to be one of the greatest rap songs of all time.

The moonlight expressions in the cover artwork represent how hard it is to get there. And the moon is a glimpse into the reward of the journey. You see here a family that found each other after years of searching, even tho no signs of birthplace or life footsteps would ever suggest they would ever come together. Fodè Sylla purposefully styled the artists in Armando Cabral, a thriving Black fashion designer from Guinea- Bissau, and a central figure in Manhattan.

It’s safe to say 2024 is off to a great start for Tawatha & IIG. ‘23 was all about being off stage and in the studio. Tawatha met IIG as they were creating their second body of work titled “1^N.” Why “1^N”? One to the power of any number is One. You can lift zero to one by being a power of ONE. This is our reminder to keep going during the highs and lows, and to do it one by one by one… On “1^N” you will be treated to many stand out songs that coalesce into a beautiful feeling.. Feelings of struggle, unity, peace, mixed with inspiration to help somebody and to find the love you dream of. Already complete are bangers like “IJC”, “ONE NATION” featuring Senegal’s Wally Seck, “Sunshine (All Night)”, “You Send Me”, “Hark the Herald”, and the highly anticipated title track “Help Somebody.” The full album will be released by Jun 7th 2024 at Immigrant Gala II.
