R&B Legend Charlie Wilson Releases New Single “Superman”

Charlie Wilson pays homage to his wife with his latest single, “Superman”

Almost everyone familiar with pop culture knows the story of the superhero Superman and his love interest, newspaper reporter Lois Lane. This DC Comic is etched in comic book history, yet when Charlie Wilson, AKA Uncle Charlie, recaptures the story as only his soulfully dynamite voice could handle, many ears should start perking. Truly, Wilson can relate to his superman story, surviving the toughest of times including cancer and facing addiction. For his service to the industry, Wilson is also a recipient of several iconic awards such as The BET Lifetime Achievement and a NAACP Music Makes a Difference Award.

On his latest track, “Superman” (Parandise), Wilson offers a hearty thank you to his wife of 28 years and how she was the ultimate rock behind the rough stuff. All in all, Wilson cuts to the core in this Superman scenario meshing the battle cry of “It’s a bird, its’ a plane” with the whole purpose of staying strong through thick and then: “Never been good at waiting/’Til you showed me patience.” The adult R&B soundtrack tosses a few jazz tidbits, including a brief, but smooth trumpet solo.
