Singer Evette Busby Releases New Single “Mr. Big Stuff”

Houston’s best kept secret is what Evette Busby is known as in her home state of Texas. Born on the Northside of Houston raised on the Southside, Evette began singing in her church choir. It was her choir director who introduced her to the local music scene when he introduced her to Patrick Green of Blues fame. He asked her to not only sing back up but to do a duet with him at the 1st Blues Festival in Crosby Texas, where she opened for Peggy Scott Adams. It was from that moment, she fell in love with preforming and went on to become one of Houston’s busiest female vocalist, working in several local bands for years.

Highlighting her early career Evette performed with Grady Gaines and The Texas Upsetters, for 20 years. It was in 2014 when she stopped by a club after getting off a gig, to see some of her fellow musicians. Evette sat in with Leroy Allen that night it was decided that we would began working together on original music. It was in 2016 she released her 1st single “Not Hear Not Now” which climbed the charts on several Soul and Blues platforms. In 2019 the next release “Don’t Stop” reached #2 on The Indie Soul charts, In the same year Evette was nominated for The President’s Choice award, Don’t Stop was also nominated for Song of the Year by the Jackson Music Awards and she won TSSA Best Southern Soul Female for 2019, In 2020 Evette won The Jackie Award Best Recording by a Single Artist.

As an up and coming artist, Evette’s Star continues to rise as God continues to bless her. Ms. Busby’s music is currently being heard nationally and internationally. Her latest single, ”Mr. Big Stuff,” the Jean Knight hit is available on all digital platforms.
