Up-and-Coming New R&B/Pop Band KODAE Releases New Soulful Track “Fractals”

Combining our mutual love of modern groove with our connection to nature and mysticism, we are a group of intergenerational musicians with unique backgrounds. Each one of us brings a sonic flavour to the table: Annie da Silva‘s velvety voice and cutting lyrics, Owen Mcpherson‘s gospel roots on the deep five, Seyoung Lee‘s lush jazz textures on the keys, Curtis Sauer‘s ambitious groove on the drums and Eric Osborne‘s fluid harmonies on the guitar.

We wanted our new single, “Fractals,” to feel like a deep breath. The last couple of years reminded us of the importance of presence and community and as things have opened back up, many of us have fallen into the busy trap of trying to make up for lost time. This song is meant to remind us to savour the moment and regain connection to the world around us.

We recorded this song live off the floor to honestly capture our live chemistry.

A key element of our band is friendship and romanticizing the mystical side of life. “Fractals” captures the feeling of warmth and peace that radiates through the mind and body when you’re surrounded by good friends on a hot summer day.
