Singer Maxwell Releases New Music Video for Single “Off”

Multi-award-winning soul man Maxwell goes OFF as an introduction to the final installment of the Blacksummers’night trilogy

It has been way more than a while since a platinum selling, internationally known superstar has released a full-length project. However, Maxwell continued feeding off his creative anxiety to work on the third installment of his trilogy he deems Blacksummers’night that began in 2009, then 2016 – dedicated to the nuts and bolts of how soul music ticks. When all is ready beyond the anxiety, Maxwell is secure about his artistic excellence as one of neo-soul’s masters in the mid-nineties.

Along with co-producer/co-songwriter Hod David, the 2021 Soul Train Legend recipient preps his upcoming last installment coming in 2022, offering us the debut single “OFF,” under his Musze label (distributed by BMG). In an interesting move from what we normally expect, Maxwell forgoes his falsetto to explore more of his lower vocal range. Yet, OFF’s storyline keeps in line with trademark Maxwell’s sensual passion: “If you need your space/I won’t invade/There’s no need to rush his hastily/Hope you receive me, aye.” With orchestrations pitting warm keyboards alongside juicy bass lines, “OFF” could easily settle into a quiet storm radio home. Welcome back Maxwell as one of soul’s deserved legends.
