Etana Releases New Single “Proppa” feat. Stonebwoy

JAMAICAN REGGAE-SOUL QUEEN COLLABORATES WITH GHANIAN AFROPOP STAR FOR FIRST SINGLE OFF OF HER UPCOMING ALBUM

February 26, 2021 – Jamaican songstress and 2018 Grammy Award nominee Etana has recruited Ghanian Afropop sensation Stonebwoy for her brand new single “Proppa.” The single and lyric video dropped today via Etana’s record label, Freemind Music.

“Proppa (ft. Stonebwoy)” serves as the lead single for Etana’s upcoming eighth studio album, due for release this spring. The new tune, produced by Freemind Music, perfectly blends elements of dancehall and Afrobeats to create a sexy scorcher that is guaranteed to bring some much needed heat to the final months of winter.

Etana — Swahili for “The Strong One,” as she is affectionately know by her fans — demands on the track:

But cherish me just like Baby Oh Oh Oh
and I’ll call you Pappa
If you want to be my lova

Stonebwoy, who won Best International Act at the 2015 BET Awards, is up to the task as he confidently responds:

I’m an African King in this place O

See I got a big place O
Only you gon fit to fill up the space Oh
Mek a give you lovin weh nobody gon fit to replace Oh

As the song was instantly added to DJ playlists around the globe, Etana and Stonebwoy prepare to release the official video for “Proppa” in the days ahead.

Etana, who previously honed her skills as a background vocalist for the likes of reggae star Richie Spice, has since enjoyed a string of Billboard Reggae chart-topping albums. She has indicated that her upcoming full length project features several international collaborations with various reggae and Afrobeats artists. The debut single with Stonebwoy is a “Proppa” glimpse into what we can expect from Etana in the near future.
