Shanachie Records: As a celebration of music’s unparalleled power, Vincent Ingala serves a hearty mix of ten tracks (mostly originals) which showcase why he is one of the most exciting artists to emerge in Contemporary Jazz this past decade. Echoes Of The Heart displays his ease and genius in the studio, as the virtual one-man band plays everything from saxophone, keyboards, drums, guitar, bass and lead vocals. Ingala also welcomes a few guests; pianist David Benoit, guitarist Steve Oliver and keyboardist Chris Geith. When the Prospect, CT native set out to record his sixth album as a leader, his intentions were clear. “I have always made music that I genuinely liked and believed in,” he confides. “The music needs to have an honesty and authenticity to it, and that can only come from one place – the heart. I hope that the listeners will hopefully catch a glimpse into some of the recent echoes of my heart.”
