R&B/Soul Singer GwenYvette Releases New Music Video “So In Love,” Wins SC Music Award

Beaufort, SC (August 2016) – R&B/Soul music singer GwenYvette has released the official music video for her single, “So in Love,” which will be on her forthcoming debut album, “Love, Dreams & Visions,” later this year. The songstress is enjoying a tremendous debut as a solo artist, as she also recently won the “Female R&B Artist of the Year” Award during the South Carolina Music Awards last month.

The music video offers an inside look into the culture and charm that influenced the burgeoning artist, in addition to a stunning visual of Beaufort’s trademark Waterfront Park. Both GwenYvette and her city are front and center for the world to see.

As a teenager in the 1990’s, GwenYvette sang with a popular local band in Beaufort, and later toured with well-known artists Roy C and Kenny Lattimore. In 2012, she had a successful run on a national show – FOX’s “The X Factor,” where she qualified for the Hollywood round. She also has a funk and soul band, named for her father, called T.C. Soul Playas. Her talent has always been there. Now, it is time for the world to take notice and to recognize the artistry that exists in Beaufort. Her music video, with its beautiful shots of the city’s waterfront park, gives viewers a bird’s eye view.

“I wanted to share a little of my background and culture, the Gullah Geechee culture, so people can see where I came from,” said GwenYvette, who was raised on St. Helena Island. “The house at the beginning of the video is the actual house I grew up in. The woman is my mother, and the children who are playing my sister, my brother and I are my nieces and nephew. I wanted to include my family to reveal a true reflection of who I am.”

This summer, GwenYvette will release new music and perform in various cities across the country, looking to expand her fan-base and garner more recognition as an emerging voice in the industry. Her goal is to make music that is relatable and to establish real connections with R&B/soul music lovers.

“I want people to feel me and see that I am a real person just like them,” she said. “My music is about love and relationships, adversity and triumph. That is what R&B and soul music is all about. My music video gives you a peek into who I am.”
