Although a newcomer to the music industry, Kheyra has been performing for audiences since the young age of five. Born and raised in Sedalia, Missouri, the R&B/Neo-Soul singer found inspiration in music from greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. By age twelve, the songstress found a passion in songwriting and began writing her own songs. Coming from a family that valued both creativity and education, Kheyra was encouraged to go to college while pursuing her dreams of becoming a singer. Throughout college, the songstress continued to perform, winning countless awards and performing for a number of notable individuals along the way. She also had the opportunity to open up for contemporary R&B singer Jhené Aiko. In 2013, Kheyra graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a B.A. in Mass Media Communication. Soon afterwards, she released her first single entitled “Royalty” – which quickly gained the attention of others. Her voice is mostly known for its soulful runs and heartfelt melodies.
