Deitrick Haddon’s LXW Long Awaited
Album Release

[Los Angeles, CA] April 2014 – Deitrick Haddon, pastor and lead, of gospel choir LXW (League of Extraordinary Worshippers) is about has released his long awaited album.  The 3-time Grammy nominee is already claiming victory for his new album dropping.  The LXW project is an amazing project that has brought together 150 voices in LA.  Their debut album features a list of ‘Who’s Who’ in the current choir music sub-genre including Hezekiah Walker, Donald Lawrence, Ricky Dillard as well as a new generation of Gospel superstars (Jessica Reedy).  By creating music for youth choirs, LXW is “resurrecting the youth choir movement”. This project truly offers music that choirs across the country can sink their teeth into and actually sing.  It leaves opportunities for choirs to showcase the hard-to-duplicate vocal calisthenics that crowds for centuries have come to love.  Sopranos, altos, tenors can shine separately and together on each track.

Deitrick Haddon blessed us with his new choir earlier this year, as the opener of the “Celebration of Gospel” on BET. He was listed in the show’s highlights and talked about for days after the Celebration of Gospel aired.  Audiences tuned in to the Oxygen Network this past Friday, Good Friday, to witness how extremely talented he was with his choir LXW.  Audience’s souls were refueled and people were left asking why anyone else hadn’t thought of it sooner.  Choirs around the world have been provided with new songs to sing in their church choirs, by this musical genius.

Deitrick Haddon remembers a time when choirs had a stronger presence in the African-American church.    “Every fifth Sunday”, he says, “was youth Sunday”.  Young people had a platform, and they had music that was made specifically for them. I want to bring that back.”  He has done just that with the album being released today, April 22.  With songs like “Great God” listeners cannot go wrong.  “Great God” is about the awesomeness of God, and how He is able to do anything.  The well balanced project features a good amount of high-energy songs like “He Keeps on Blessing Me” and “God Stepped In” as well as moving ballads that showcase those unique power notes that only choirs can deliver like “Tis So Sweet”.  Haddon includes a couple of spoken word pieces like “Xtraordinary” and “Sweet”.
