R&B Crooner Earl Whitaker Breaks Out With New Single, “Song of Love”

Earl Whitaker Releases “Song Of Love” Single

Earl Whitaker
started singing with the church choir as a child, and he’s kept on
going ever since. The singer, songwriter, producer, and publisher has
written for and performed with acts like Positive Choice and Black Ivory
on the Buddah music label. That experience allowed Whitaker to opened
for artists such as Ashford and Simpson, The Stylistics, Blue Magic, The
Dramatics and The Chi-Lites. As a backing musician, he’s lent his
talents to artists like The Drifters and Fred Parris and the Five
Satins.

Now, Earl Whitaker is taking his musical career to the
next level with the announcement that he’s releasing his latest single,
“Song of Love.”

“Song of Love” has a definite old-school vibe,
with backing melodies that sound culled from the best of the 70s soul
jams Whitaker listened to all those years ago. Jazzy keyboards, and
funky guitar are layered atop a high-hat rhythm that sets a perfect
backdrop for Whitaker’s easy-flowing vocals.

“Song of Love” is a
message in a bottle, a plea to be heard. Whitaker says his message is
about finding the courage to share your emotions, in pursuit of a human
connection with another heart.

“It’s ok to express ones feelings towards someone else.”
Equal parts Aaron Neville and Barry White, Earl Whitaker’s tenor style
soars and twists hypnotically with adroit felicity. “Song of Love” is
the perfect showcase for Whitaker’s amazing vocal talents.

With
such an old-school sound, it’s no surprise to learn that some of
Whitaker’s biggest musical influences include classic acts like Earth,
Wind, & Fire and Peabo Bryson. But Whitaker also takes a cue from
some unusual sources, like the Beatles, and country-pop singer and
songwriter B.J. Thomas.
