(Free-Press-Release.com) November 16, 2011 — (Los Angeles) – Vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter, and producer Johnny Britt – Founder and Lead Singer of the former Motown Group “Impromp2” — has signed with Guion Partners for Worldwide Representation as he prepares for his debut solo album, “Feels So Good,” to be released early next year.

Johnny’s contemporary release, “Feels So Good,” is a collection of eleven dynamic songs that brings a refreshing revival of old-school soul to the R&B scene. The CD is a soulful journey that hearkens back to the heyday of brilliant music with an updated groove, R&B, Jazz, Pop, Soul, and a little bit of Reggae flavor.

Known for his uplifting and positive lyrics, Johnny’s debut as a solo artist and his previous recordings on Motown Records with “IMPROMP2” are recognized internationally.

With his new CD on the way, Johnny Britt has also taken his career into his own hands and has engaged top management with Guion Partners, Inc. Based in Los Angeles, Lindsay Guion handles a top-shelf roster of multi-talented artists, including but not limited to Jaguar Wright (“Denials, Delusions and Decisions,” was named best album of the decade by the Associated Press) and Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum recording artists Ginuwine, Mya and D’Angelo.

“We at GPI are excited to work with Johnny. He has an energy and enthusiasm about his music that is truly infectious,” Guion said. “It’s rare to find an Artist with such innate musical talent and creativity in this digital age. Johnny is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining him as partner, as he continues to grow in all aspects of his career.”

Guion studied at Harvard University and professionally maintains active membership in the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association.

Johnny Britt “is a rare combination of an outstanding singer, an excellent trumpet player, a hit songwriter, a skilled arranger, an experienced music producer, and a seasoned professional,” Guion said. “I knew that this was a special project and a special Artist. I am convinced that this Artist and this project will be widely accepted by the masses.”

According to Britt, the completion of the project “makes me feel really relieved. This is like everything coming full circle. Those years with IMPROMP2 were great and getting feedback from those fans is great. To have total control of this album was really a blessing.”

Buzz has already generated around the first single, “Beautiful Queen,” which combats more contemporary fare that some say denounces women in today’s lyrics. Its forthcoming video was directed by actor/director Leon Robinson, IV (“The Five Heartbeats”).

“I wrote the song “Beautiful Queen” simply because women are beautiful. No matter what race, shape or size they are all beautiful and a gift to man from God,” Britt said. “When I look at talk shows, the news, etc.; it’s a shame how some of these women are treated and it shouldn’t be that way. They shouldn’t be called out of their names or be disrespected.”

Britt has received Gold and Platinum status with the Temptations and Boney James. He has worked behind the scenes in the recording studio and live on stage with some of the most prevalent artists in the industry including: Quincy Jones, Josh Grobin, David Bowie, Jennifer Lopez, The Temptations, Maxwell, Peabo Bryson, Luther Vandross and others.

The song “Contact” by Boney James, which Britt co-wrote, was a Number One Billboard Hit.

Prestigious projects Britt has contributed musically to include the feature films “Water For Elephants,” “Ides of March,” “The Lion King,” “Forest Gump,” “Spiderman 3;” television movies “The Temptations Story,” “The Little Richard Story” and television shows “American Idol,” in addition to recently serving as the music producer for “America Sings.”

For three years Johnny, who is fluent in French, studied music just outside of Paris, France at The Versailles Conservatory of Music where he studied trumpet with the first trumpet player from the Paris Opera, Roger Delmette. After his studies abroad, Johnny moved back to the U.S. and earned a music scholarship from Governors State University where he obtained a B.A. in Music and won the Gerald Myrow Award for Outstanding Composer.
