Rodney Posey | My Praise Is Waiting For You (Avail Now)

He has been called one of Gospel’s most gifted and anointed praise and worship artists, and is truly guided by the Spirit. A long-time standout in the Gospel music industry, Cincinnati native Rodney Posey has written more than 150 songs in his Gospel music career, which began when he started singing at the age of seven.
Rodney is an ordained elder in The Church of God in Christ International (COGIC) and a 2001 Image Maker Award Winner (Music Category). His music has been recorded by Gospel leaders such as Grammy Award winner Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir and Grammy nominee and Stellar Award winning Gospel artist Beverly Crawford.

Rodney and music have always had an important partnership. With a mother who supported and encouraged his involvement in music, Rodney enrolled at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music’s Prep Department when only 16. Later, while attending the University of Cincinnati, where he graduated with a degree in psychology, Rodney gained valuable musical experience while traveling across the country with the college’s Men’s Glee Club.

He recorded his first album, THE STORM IS OVER, in 1989. His next album from Detroit-based based Crystal Rose Records entitled, DONALD LAWRENCE PRESENTS RODNEY POSEY LIVE IN PRAISE AND WORSHIP with The Whitfield Company, was released in 1994. It became a fixture on the gospel charts and garnered Rodney a Stellar Award nomination. His 1999 release EL SHADDAI, also on Crystal Rose, expanded Rodney’s musical territory when he worked with producers Fred Hammond, Donald Lawrence and Cedric Thompson.

A NEW SONG OF WORSHIP, Rodney’s next release, included songs birthed out of Rodney’s intimate time with God. Recorded live on September 15, 2001, four days after the tragic Terrorist attacks, the music transformed James Temple COGIC into an altar as Rodney Posey & Praise offered up “A New Song of Worship.” The result of that night was a project packed with powerful Praise & Worship songs.

Rodney’s long-awaited new release is MY PRAISE IS WAITING FOR YOU, which debuts in November 2010, with an additional four songs scheduled to be released in January 2011. Rodney wrote the title song and two other songs on the album, which focuses on praising God for who He is and what He has done. The CD is released by RTT Productions, Rodney’s production company. The initials represent Rodney, his wife Teretha and his daughter Trina.

Pastoring is also an important part of Rodney’s life. Rodney was called to lead the Impact Worship Center in 2003, a ministry which celebrated its seventh anniversary in April 2010. The theme of the Impact Worship Center is impacting the masses with a lifestyle of worship. The Impact Worship Center reminds us that worship is not reserved for Sunday and it’s not reserved for church. A lifestyle of worship is submitting everything you have to God 24/7 for God’s exclusive use. The result is that thousands of individuals yield to the will of God and experience a tremendous change in their lives.
