2007 Camarillo Art & Jazz Festival

Some of the most respected jazz performers in the country, along with talented local jazz musicians and artists, will take center stage during the 2007 Camarillo Art & Jazz Festival, presented by the City of Camarillo, on August 10 – 12 at venues throughout Camarillo. “We’re thrilled with this year’s line-up”, says Maggie Kildee, festival spokesperson. “The musicians and artists represent the very best of professional and local talent. Jazz with Altitude

In between the JVC Jazz Festival in June and the third season of Harlem in the Himalayas in September, the Rubin Museum of Art is presenting two showcase performances under the heading Jazz With Altitude. On July 20 you can hear jazz flutist Jamie Baum team up with pianist Roberta Piket supported by bassist Ratzo Harris. On August 10 Doc Cheatham’s grandson Theo Croker (trumpet) and his Quintet make their debut.

2007 Telluride Jazz Celebration

The schedule of events including concert times and venues for the 2007 Telluride Jazz Celebration from August 2-5 has been finalized with the exception of a few free outdoor concerts for which the artists appearing remain to be announced.

Guitarist John Scofield has been named this year’s guest of honor and will appear with Trio Beyond featuring drummer Jack DeJohnette & keyboardist Larry Goldings and with keyboardist John Medeski & drummer Adam Deitch.As a tribute, the TJC renamed its main stage “The John Scofield Stage” for the duration of the event. West Oak Lane Jazz Festival in Philadelphia

The 4th Annual West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival takes place June 22-24, 2007. Featured performers include, Pat Martino, Roy Ayers and WAR. Over twenty years ago, Friends of OARC (our volunteer component) organized the first Super Saturday Street Fair to encourage shoppers to return to the 7100 block of Ogontz Avenue and to foster community pride. The festival, held every June, featured rides and games for children, live music, vendors, and arts & crafts. It was a good start.

 Randall Kline, the Executive Director of SFJAZZ–the leading non- profit jazz organization on the West Coast–today announced the complete artist line-up for the 25TH Anniversary San Francisco Jazz Festival. The Festival will begin with John McLaughlin and the 4th Dimension on September 22.
