MICHAEL LINGTON KEEPS THE PARTY GOING WITH NEW SINGLE, “ON THE SCENE”

Track Follows “South Bay,” One Of The Longest-Running No. 1 Hits In The History Of Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Airplay Chart

Fresh off his No. 1 hit “South Bay,” Michael Lington keeps the party going with “On The Scene.” Fully embodying the hip, spontaneous action and energy promised in its title, the fiery, funked-out, horn-drenched jam perfectly captures the spirit of the early days of contemporary jazz, but with a modern sound. Co-produced and composed by Lington and veteran saxman, arranger and producer David Mann, the song features guitarist Paul Jackson, Jr., bassist Alex Al and drummer Michael White – the same powerhouse crew that brought the magic to his recent Top 5 hit, “Moon Goddess.” “On The Scene” is the first single from Lington’s forthcoming EP, which will be released on Copenhagen Music.

“South Bay,” from Lington’s 2023 EP Looking Ahead, took only four weeks to reach the pole position on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Airplay chart, where it spent seven remarkable weeks, becoming one of the tally’s longest-running No. 1 hits in history.

Lington, who has released 13 albums, charted more than 25 hit singles and performed in over 40 countries, continues his summer tour on Sunday, August 25, performing at Concerts On The Fly in Denver. More info on https://michaellington.com/tour/.
