Donnell Spencer Jr. Releases New Single ”Go For Gold”

Philadelphia born Donnell Spencer, Jr., is a self-taught drummer and avid lover of music. In addition, he is a talented singer and songwriter.

This well regarded drummer/singer has toured or worked with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Jody Watley, El DeBarge, Destiny’s Child, Patti Austin, John Legend, Brian Culbertson, En Vogue, Tevin Campbell, Jonathan Butler, Boney James and Ray Parker Jr.

His recording experience includes,”Bermuda Nights” Gerald Albright, “Journey” Bobby Lyle, “Sweet Thing, and Boney’s Funky Christmas” Boney James, “The Limit’s the Sky”Oil Silk and “Paradise “Kenny G.

He has performed live on many award shows and television, including: The American Music Awards with the late Teddy Pendagrass and the Soul Train Music Awards with Chaka Khan and The Bold and the Beautiful with Jack Wagner.

Donnell is also an award winning and chart topping songwriter. He has won the prestigious John Lennon Songwriter award, for two of his original songs in the categories of Hip Hop and Smooth Jazz.

He has also had a #1 song on the Billboard R&B Chart, Turned Away, Chuckii Booker. He co-wrote two title songs with Brian Culbertson, Nice and Slow and Somethin’ Bout Love.

His solo artist releases are (in order of release) “True Love”, ”Come On”, ”The Game”, “Over U” and the current single, ”Go For Gold” is available on all digital platforms.
