Roots Reggae Meets New Orleans Soul On The Naya Rockers And Ivan Neville Eponymous First Single From Upcoming Vinyl Project

Floki Studios & Naya Records are excited to announce the release of “Higher Education,” recorded by Ivan Neville and Naya Rockers

Neville’s uplifting, soulful New Orleans sound is woven seamlessly into a Naya Rockers’ horns-driven roots reggae riddim, connecting Neville’s northern Caribbean roots with authentic Jamaican vibes further south thanks to legendary Naya Rockers band members like Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith and Andy Bassford. This soul-stirring composition serves as a prelude to the upcoming vinyl release, which will offer a tapestry of reggae, foundation dancehall, ska, punk, and New Orleans R&B.

A majority of proceeds, and 100% of Floki Studios’ portion, will be donated to youth music training at the Alpha School of Music in Kingston, Jamaica. Alpha has been called a “dream factory” (NPR/USA) for “legendary musicians” (Jamaica Gleaner) who “helped release the spirit of one of the most musical islands in the world” (The Telegraph/UK).
