JAZ ELISE

RETURNS WITH NEW SONG AND VIDEO “RICE & PEAS”

PRODUCED BY INTERNATIONAL HITMAKER DI GENIUS

Hailed for her 21st century blend of reggae and R&B, Jamaica’s rising vocalist Jaz Elise is back in 2023 with “Rice & Peas,” a jovial and romantic confession out today (3.30) via I&I Worldwide.

The familiar expression, “I love you like cooked food,” is deeply stewed in this new song produced by Jamaican Grammy-winning beatsmith Di Genius (Drake, John Legend). Jaz’s native signature dish of rice and kidney beans serves as a fitting metaphor for the blissful feeling of love. Fulfilled by this joy, Jaz Elise basks in it. The bubbly vocals from the singer-songwriter radiate in Fernando Hevia-directed scenes, picturing her against a sprawling backdrop of palm trees and open fields, also accompanied by a friends and family celebration where rice and peas brings smiles to everyone around.

Jaz Elise explains, ”this feel-good single is about embracing that moment when you realize you really like someone. It’s fully acknowledging that this person and this energy makes you feel so good and so you think it’s a good thing to pursue.”

“Rice & Peas” follows Jaz Elise’s 2022 single “Gratitude” (Overstand Entertainment / Easy Star Records) and her 2021 debut EP The Golden Hour (via In.Digg.Nation Collective/Six Course/RCA Records). The new single is available via I&I Worldwide, a new imprint from reggae artist Protoje’s In.Digg.Nation Collective label in partnership with Easy Star Records and The Orchard for worldwide distribution. The imprint’s goal is to give rising Jamaican artists the opportunity to release their music on a more independent level. “Rice & Peas” is I&I Worldwide’s second release, after Samory I’s “Life Is Amazing” feat. Chi Ching Ching.

“Rice & Peas” is available on all platforms.
