(Detroit, MI) – February 7, 2022 – Ellen Hayes knows Gospel music. A four-time Rhythm of Gospel Award Nominee, Hayes has been singing God’s praises since she was in her 20s. Surrounded by great artists in her native Detroit, Ellen honed her musical talents on the piano in addition to voice. Over the years, she’s become a noted choir director and church musician. A gifted and prolific songwriter as well, her song, “O King,” caught the attention of GMWA and was recorded by the Gospel Music Workshop of America during their 50th Anniversary Convention. The former member of True Inspiration, a dynamic singing ensemble, launched out as a solo artist in 2012 with the CD, Step Into Your Blessing. Now a decade later, she returns with a powerful new single from her forthcoming 10-song project entitled We Owe It All To You. The single, “We Owe It All To You,” a gratitude-laden track, is available now on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon and other digital outlets.

“We Owe It All To You,” was written after Ellen underwent a season of heartbreaking experiences. Ultimately, she emerged victorious. It was after those trials that she realized she owed it all to God. “I knew that it was God who brought me through,” the psalmist explains. “During that season, the Lord dropped the song in my spirit. Initially, it was titled ‘I Owe It All To You,’ but in 2020, once I contracted the Coronavirus and saw friends, family members and church members pass away from COVID, I had a different take on the song. After the Lord brought me through, I said, ‘I’m not going to be selfish; it’s not ‘I owe it all,’ it’s ‘we owe it all.’”

We Owe It All To You, the CD, is a musical collage of the heart of Ellen Hayes. An inspiring work of art for the traditional Gospel music lover, We Owe It All To You is a beautiful representation of an artist who has been in music ministry for decades. Songs like “The Holy City” is a classic song in the making. A beautifully penned track about Heaven, “The Holy City” is one of the project’s stellar songs. The soft and uplifting harmonies of “Peace Be Unto You” as well as the mellow and sweet sounds of “The Secret Place” make this record a standout. With her illustrious career in Gospel music, it’s no surprise that this blessed artist delivers such a strong project. The daughter of a pastor and a church musician, Ellen learned to play the organ by ear. Soon after, she took to the piano and eventually became the church’s choir director. She walked into her calling as a songwriter when her father, her church pastor, demanded that all the songs sung on Sunday morning be biblically accurate. That was start of her songwriting journey and since that time, she has penned countless Gospel songs. After joining her brother’s group, True Inspiration, she recorded two albums with the group. It wasn’t until many years later that she decided to step to the mic as a solo artist. Michael Mindingall co-wrote songs with Ellen and produced her debut record, Step Into Your Blessing. In 2015, she dropped a moving single, “I Tried Him for Myself.” After dropping her first project and a subsequent single, she formed her own group, Ellen Hayes and Harmonee, which consists of herself and her three daughters.
