Guitarist Marcus Machado Releases New Album “Aquarius Purple”

Guitarist extraordinaire/producer/composer Marcus Machado draws us to a no borders experience on his debut project, Aquarius Purple

He began his indescribable professional journey at age nine and has never, ever looked back. Marcus Machado’s diverse musicality is one reason why artists Bradd Marquis and Robert Glaspar have invited him to their party and as a soundtrack guru on the Emmy Award winning HBO documentary The Apollo. But all in all, it is simply about Machado bearing his soul on the guitar, which he finally receives the opportunity with his debut full-length, Aquarius Purple (Nia Music Distribution).

Just to name a few highlights from Machado’s 12-track adventurous ride, Aquarius Purple’s opener, “AQ Intro (Night Owl Child)” lays down an intense blues soundtrack. “Purple” gives kudus to the innovative genius that is Prince. Machado shows off his mind-blowing guitar virtuosity soaked in sweet feedback with “As I Care.” Turning to rock and R&B, “Running” is backed by a clicking futuristic rhythm track. Jazz takes over on “Let’s Play” transforms into an intricate guitar orchestra. Finally, “Tomorrow Never Knows” builds from a poignant moment with TFox on acoustic piano into Machado’s guitar delivering volcanic ecstasy.

Contributors towards Aquarius Purple include Daru Jones from Machado’s trio th1rt3en and producer/musician TFox. Aquarius Purple is currently available thru most digital outlets.
