Award Winners Steve Dalton & The Leviticus Singers of Charlotte Bring In A New Decade With Inspirational New Single, “God Is Love”, on January 3, 2020

Ensemble Also Drops Concept Music Video

(Charlotte, NC) – January 2, 2020 – It’s clear to see that our country and our world are experiencing unprecedented challenges. Overwhelming to some and slightly troublesome to others, people everywhere are in need of encouragement. The Gospel ensemble Steve Dalton & The Leviticus Singers of Charlotte has been commissioned to uplift the soul and ignite the spirit. Starting off a new decade with a musical message centered around God’s Love, they are healing the brokenhearted and helping the wounded soul using the power of music. The three-time Gospel Image Award Winners and Nominees for Rhythm of Gospel Awards, Prayze Factor People’s Choice Awards and Queen City Music Awards will be dropping a brand new inspirational cut entitled “God Is Love” and it’s just what Gospel music fans have been waiting for. The up-tempo track will be available on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and other digital media outlets and on the group’s website on Friday, January 3, 2020.

Dalton, the group’s leader, penned the song because he wanted to remind people of the simple message of salvation: God is Love. Steve says, “Sometimes I feel that we make a relationship with God complicated; we can make it difficult for people to enter the Kingdom because of the rules we impose. The first thing that God wants us to do is to get them in the door. Then, He will do the cleaning up. As I started to think about that, a melody and lyrics just started coming to me and the end result was the song, “God Is Love”.

In addition to releasing the brand new single, which will also be serviced to Gospel radio, the ensemble has dropped a complementary music video. Showcasing several real-life situations, the video reminds the viewer of the overarching reach of the love of God. Each story recounted is one that has touched members of the group personally. The concept music video, directed by Juan Ossa of SDM Productions, cleverly takes on issues like depression, suicide, bulimia, prostitution and an unexpected pregnancy and shows how the love of God is the cure for each obstacle.

The bouncy, uplifting single is the first song out of the gate from an upcoming EP, The Introduction. The 2020 release will include songs that the group has been ministering on the road such as “All The Glory”, “Our God”, “So Free”, “I Win” and “How Great Is Our God”. The singing aggregation dropped their first CD, Address Change: God’s Great Relocation Music Project, in 2006 which positioned them as deliverers of “vertical music”. Since that time, they have released several singles, including their original Christmas song, “Jesus Christ Is Born”. Putting the finishing touches on the new project, the ensemble is excited to share songs that some of their fans have yet to experience.

During a recording hiatus since the release of last year’s holiday track, “Jesus Christ Is Born”, Steve Dalton & The Leviticus Singers of Charlotte have been on tour, hitting several states across the country. Their travels have led them to Gospel events like the Musical Soul Food Festival where they shared the stage with popular artists such as Dr. Juanita Bynum, Fred Hammond and Kurt Carr; they also ministered in song in Myrtle Beach, SC, at the Wave of Praise featuring top artists in Gospel including Maurette Brown Clark, Byron Cage and Israel Houghton. Also, in 2019, fans have seen them at the Sweet Auburn Festival in Atlanta, the Columbus Gospel Fest in Ohio, the Praise NOLA Fest in Louisiana, the Shout Fest in Aiken, SC, the Music Fest in Fayetteville, NC and the Cherry Blossom Music Fest in Macon, GA. While in New Orleans, the gifted ensemble of singers was the featured artist at the renowned House of Blues. Bringing down the house with new and old material, the headlining performance cemented Dalton and his singers as one of Gospel music’s rising stars.

According to Dalton, the mission of the ensemble is to “make Jesus known.” Ensuring sure they are grounded in the word of God before sharing it with others, the singers meet regularly for Bible study, in addition to rehearsal, to apply spiritual lessons to their own personal lives. The group, which has been singing together for over 15 years, is serious about what they do. In addition to their God-centered music, their name, “Leviticus Singers”, denotes how important it is that they follow the call of the Levite. Their riveting vocals and soul-stirring songs have opened doors for the ensemble to appear on Babbie’s House, Atlanta Live, Friends & Neighbors, Club 36 and other Christian television programs and networks.
